OPERATION SILVERSWORD BATTLE REPORT

This is the wording from an original flyer that was made up after VU-1 participated in "Operation Silversword", in which the jarheads at Kaneohe and the AF in their F-102's all got together in a wargame fun time. As you can see, we waxed 'em.

THE MOST FEARLESS FLYING OUTFIT,

THAT EVER SHOT A GUN,

ARE THESE COOL CRUSADER-KILLERS,

OF FIGHTING VU-ONE

IN GUNNERY AND MISSLERY,

THEY'VE WON THE YEAR'S AWARD,

AND EVERY PILOT THERE'S AN ACE,

SINCE THE END OF SILVERSWORD.

THE ENEMY, THEY FLEW LIKE SHEEP,

THEY WERE AN AIMLESS FLOCK,

AND EVERY VU PILOT,

FOUND THEM SQUARE AT TWELVE O'CLOCK

THERE IS NOTHING FINER THAN,

THAT SPLENDID GUNSIGHT VIEW,

OF A FALLEN FIGHTER AIRCRAFT:

A FLAMING F8U.

THEY'VE BEEN DRIVEN FROM THE SKIES,

AND BACK TO THEIR LATRINES,

AND THAT'S THE LAST WE'LL EVER HEAR,

OF THE UNITED STATES MARINES!
